ACTS International
Founded in 2005. Our partner since 2013.
In summer 2013, Go Ahead! gained a new partner in the form of the Ugandan NGO ACTS International. We cooperate with ACTS (African Community Team Support) in the area of pre-school education.
As part of their participation in BRICKS in Uganda Go Ahead! employees Florian Retzlaff, Johanna Reimers and Lys Kulamadayil accepted the invitation of ACTS and visited their projects. This visit was an unforgettable experience. Touched by the personal commitment of ACTS staff, as well as the remarkable achievement of accomplishing so much with little financial and human resources, Go Ahead! and ACTS worked tirelessly for a year to make the collaboration a reality. With the state registration of ACTS as a non-profit association in July 2013, there is finally nothing standing in the way of cooperation. The Ugandan association was founded in 2005 on the initiative of board member Nathan Muwereza. Nathan, who himself comes from a poor small village in eastern Uganda and had to experience poverty, violence and inequality of opportunity in his youth, started a local initiative with a group of friends with the aim of creating perspectives in rural communities through education and health promotion. Through the generation of private donations, ACTS supports two schools and also operates a small ophthalmology practice.

Since then, Bulumela Preschool at the foot of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda has been supported by the Go Ahead! Early Education Program. ACTS is the first time Go Ahead! has entered into its permanent cooperation with a Ugandan partner. For our Ugandan partner, too, Go Ahead! is the first organization with which it has entered into a lasting collaboration.
ACTS International is one of our partners for the Early Education Program. Support a child at ACTS International by making a monthly donation starting at 6 Euros!
